New Butoh from Yasuchika!

Please enjoy these two new videos from Yasuchika. This is his butoh is it's best: primal, occult, scary, absurd, transcendent, other-worldly, honest, controlled, strong, spontaneous, graceful, gimmicky, and inventive, all at once. We the viewer get to sit safely behind the lights, in our protective darkness, as our shaman unfolds and transforms "the dance of darkness" before us. Out of the darkness, out of the stillness, out of the silence, and into ouselves, deep and wild.

Showing Work

I'm showing some of my work at this month's Final Friday in Lawrence! The show is called "Light Bodies" and will be held at Be Moved Studio, a dance/yoga/art gallery right off 7th and Mass. I cannot attend the art opening (I'll be skiing in Colorado celebrating my soul brother Kyle's engagement!), but my gorgeous housemates Leigh and Cat will be there, along with other pure light bodies dancing and mingling, so please come if you can!

Happy Holidays!

David posed for me the other day--I'm planning on doing portraits of my niece and nephew, inspired in part by Gerhard Richter's baby paintings.
Molly!
Charlie's birthday party! Joyce made her famous Indian food.

Here I am with my housemates, Leigh and Cat, and our snake, Sheldon Waterbottom.

May all beings be Free and in Love.
